Cape Town, South Africa – Feb 28-March 1st – ULT.X Cape Escape brought two days of world-class BMX action to Cape Town, with a stacked line up of BMX talent across dirt, street, and bowl disciplines in the first time format for the event.
The event kicked off with the BMX Triple Challenge South Africa Edition at the renowned Hellsend Dirt Compound, where pristine jumps set the stage for an epic battle among the world’s best. Kevin Peraza claimed victory with a set of untouchable runs, with Maxime Chalifour and Kieran Reilly rounding out the podium. Josh Dove wowed the crowd, securing the Best Trick award with a seat bounce 720.
Day two shifted to the heart of the city for the Monster Cash Up Street Jam, culminating in an electrifying rail jam at City Bowl Park. Jordan Godwin took the overall win putting down a countless number of technical rail combos, while Boyd Hilder landed Best Trick honours with a battle against the wind with a backflip to manual into the rail with a barspin out which sent the crowd ballistic.

Jordan Godwin – “It’s amazing to be out here in South Africa again, the Cash Up rail jam was nuts, I was not expecting to take the win with the level of riding I was seeing from everyone.”

Boyd Hilder – “I really had to battle for that one, it took a lot of attempts and all my energy I had left as I’d been battling sickness this week, I was so stoked to make it happen!”
The grand finale in the bowl saw the riders pushing the limits with big tricks and creative lines. Once again, Kevin Peraza dominated the field, taking first place, with Kieran Reilly in second and Sergio Layos in third. Reilly also claimed Best Trick with a double flip over the hip, capping off an unforgettable weekend of BMX.
Kevin Peraza – “Coming to South Africa is always such a dream trip, this time I came out with my family, and I had the best time on the off the bike, being able to take the win at both dirt and bowl events is just an incredible bonus on top of being out here.”
The ULT.X Cape Escape once again cemented Cape Town’s status as a premier global BMX destination, with riders and fans already looking forward to the next edition.
