SWATCH & ULT.X Join Forces to Bring South Africa’s Top Action Sports Festival

Cape Town Summer to Kick Off with the World’s Best BMX and Skate Talent
Battery Park on November 21-22

Cape Town, South Africa — International timepiece icon SWATCH is teaming up with South Africa’s premier action sports festival, ULT.X, as the world’s best BMX and skate athletes prepare to descend on Cape Town on 22 November 2025. The event will take place at the V&A Waterfront’s Battery Park.

Now celebrating its 19th year, this headline partnership marks a new chapter for the festival, bringing together global style, precision, and creativity with the raw energy and talent that define the action sports scene.

“It feels epic to be back in the Mother City…where it all began. We’re stoked to welcome Swatch as our headline partner, marking a new chapter as we head into two decades of world-class action sports on African soil. Their spirit of innovation matches the culture of ULT.X, and together we’ll celebrate not just the athletes, but the whole community that makes action sports what it is. Cape Town has shown it values action sports, so this November, get ready for another showcase you won’t want to miss,” says organiser, Markus Müseler of OSP Events Co.

From the very beginning, SWATCH has been deeply connected to action sports, championing once-unconventional pursuits like skateboarding and snowboarding and helping bring them to the forefront. Its playful, provocative spirit has led to the support of pioneering athletes and the sponsorship of groundbreaking events, including NINES and Battle of Hastings.

Fans can expect a day of high-octane performances, culture, and competition, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Cape Town. Kevin Peraza, one of the most versatile and decorated BMX athletes in history, always finds the event a highlight on the calendar: Every time I get the chance to ride in a place as beautiful as Cape Town, it’s special. I’m so stoked to come back and ride. The event has such a unique vibe, it’s all about pushing boundaries, and it’s epic to see SWATCH and ULT.X team up to take it to the next level.”

South African Olympic street skateboarder Brandon Valjalo shares much of Peraza’s sentiment: “Competing at home with some of the best in the world is something that never gets old. The energy from the crowd and the level of riding and skating are always insane.”

This year’s edition promises an unmissable celebration of action sports, music, and culture, showcasing global and local talent in a festival environment like no other in Africa. None of it would be possible without the support of an incredible partner network, with Redbat as the presenting partner, Monster Energy keeping the crowd energised, and Suzuki powering the experience.

Tickets go live on 24 September. For more information, please visit ultx.africa for more information.
