SKATE Ambassador Moses Adams
Can also meet HD Ambassador Moses Adams – The man affectionately known as ‘Moses’ is one of the most laid-back individuals you’re bound to come across. Below the chilled, very characteristically ‘Capetonian’ demeanor however, lurks a fierce, determined competitor however.
Adams first started skating when his brother gave him a board at the fresh age of nine and he hasn’t stopped since. He’s worked his way up from local competitions to competing in the Damn Am Skateboard Competition in Los Angeles when he was 16.
In 2011 Adams stamped his real mark on the South African skate scene by claiming the Red Bull
Manny Manny title, earning him the right to go represent at the World Finals in New York. In 2012 he did the double.
He showed the world his diverse range of technical tricks (all pulled with a distinctively smooth, laid-back style) to finish ninth in New York. In 2013 he stepped away from the contest scene to work on video parts.
2014 saw the man win both Ultimate X and Red Bull Unlocked and place second at Halloween Jam. Quizzed after each podium result, the answer was always along the lines of, “to be honest I really didn’t know who was going to win, because standard was really high. I had to try mix it up and do some different tricks to stand out.”
